Funded research projects

The program's faculty members participate in funded research projects. The following list includes funded projects and activities since 2010 in which students and graduates of the program have been involved.

" Modeling emotions and behavior of lexicalization and communicative functions in early childhood with application to the spectrum of autistic disorders and the detection of language delay " ( babyAffect ). Research project lasting 18 months, within the framework of the "Excellence II" program, with a total budget of €236,000. General Secretariat for Research and Technology/NSRF (2014–2015). Scientific director Alexandros Potamianos, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, NTUA.

" Multimodal processing of signals and events in perception and cognition " ( COGNIMUSE ). Research project lasting 36 months, within the framework of the "Excellence" program, with a total budget of €495,000. General Secretariat for Research and Technology/NSRF (2012–2015). Scientific director Petros Maragos, Professor, Department of Computer Science, NTUA.

“Long-term effects of early-life seizures on cortical function and excitability”.  Research project within the framework of the program “Support for postdoctoral researchers”, with a budget of €150,000. General Secretariat for Research and Technology/ESRF (2012–2015). Scientific manager Irini Skaliora, Researcher at IIBEAA.

"Cognitive mechanisms of perception, representation and organization of knowledge"  ( COGMEK ). Research project lasting 45 months, within the framework of the "Thalis" program, with a total budget of €520,000. Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs/ESRF (2012–2015). Scientific coordinator Stella Vosniadou, Emeritus Professor of the Institute of Philosophy, University of Athens.

“Levels of speech impairment in Greek-speaking individuals with aphasia: relationships with processing deficits, brain damage and treatment approaches   ( APHASIA ) ( project website ). Research project lasting 45 months, within the framework of the “Thalis” program, with a total budget of €520,000. Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs/ESRA (2012–2015). Scientific coordinator Spyridoula Varlokosta, Associate Professor, Department of Linguistics, NKUA.

« Time in mental activity: theoretical, behavioral, bioimaging and clinical perspectives » ( TIMELY ). Research networking action lasting 48 months, within the framework of the ISCH COST program. European Commission/ European Cooperation in Science and Technology (2010–2013). Action director Argyro Vataki, CSRI Researcher.
