The master’s program in Cognitive Science aims to foster a deep and interdisciplinary understanding of the mind and intelligence. Based on the methods and research tools of neuroscience, psychology, computer science, philosophy, and linguistics, the program encourages students to explore how these scientific disciplines intersect and contribute to the study of human—and non-human—cognition.
At its core, the program aims to prepare students for demanding interdisciplinary research. Either studying the mechanisms of perception, or modeling cognitive processes through computational means, or examining the philosophical dimensions of consciousness, students are actively supported in developing a strong theoretical and methodological background for investigating complex questions.
At the same time, emphasis is given to the ability to communicate and collaborate across different scientific frameworks. Through coursework and research activities, students cultivate the ability to engage in dialogue and collaborate effectively with researchers from different scientific disciplines, which is crucial for the progress of the field. Graduates acquire not only expertise in their area of interest, but also a broader research education that enables them to contribute significantly to academic research, teaching, and the applied sciences.
